Mariana de la Roche Wills

I’m Mariana de la Roche Wills, a Colombian-born leader in the blockchain and AI sectors, with over a decade of experience in driving social impact through technology. I’m the Founder of de la Roche W. Consultancy, where I work closely with both industry leaders and regulators to support the responsible and ethical advancement of emerging technologies.

My journey in this field began with a strong foundation in law, human rights, and public administration, which I have applied across various roles in Colombia and Germany, where I have been based for the past eight years. My passion lies in harnessing the transformative power of technology to address some of the most pressing global challenges, from sustainability and climate change to inclusivity and transparency.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to bridging the gap between the public and private sectors. As a founding member and leader of BC100+, I have helped convene the blockchain ecosystem to support the UN Charter values and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, I serve on the Board of Directors for INATBA, where I co-chair the Social Impact and Sustainability Working Group, leading initiatives that align blockchain technology with global sustainability standards.

My work has also led me to actively contribute to EU regulation, particularly in areas like AI, DeFi, and anti-money laundering, where I have facilitated large-scale discussions, synthesized stakeholder input, and drafted comprehensive reports. I am committed to ensuring that technology serves the broader goal of social good, and I strive to make it accessible, transparent, and beneficial for all.

Having been in Germany for eight years, I have developed a deep understanding of both European and global regulatory landscapes, which I leverage to advise on policy and strategy. My role as an independent consultant allows me to work on a diverse range of projects, helping clients navigate the complexities of emerging technologies while remaining aligned with ethical and legal standards worldwide.

​After years of working at the intersection of technology, law, and social impact, I realized that the most meaningful advancements often occur when innovative solutions are paired with ethical standards and a deep understanding of regulatory environments. With this in mind, I decided to open de la Roche W. Consultancy to have the freedom to drive change on my own terms, and to help organizations navigate the complexities of emerging technologies. By establishing my own consultancy, I could fully dedicate myself to bridging the gap between industry leaders and regulators, advocating for responsible technology use, and ensuring that innovation aligns with the broader goals of sustainability, inclusivity, and social good. This step has allowed me to offer tailored advice and strategic support to clients who share my commitment to making technology work for everyone.
